It’s a sad fact that some laboratories operate illegally, which could put patients’ health at risk and potentially open dentists up to expensive litigation. The good news is that because you choose a DAMAS accredited laboratory, you can be secure in the knowledge that we operate to the highest possible standards. For example, we fully comply with the Medical Devices Directive(MDD) and the Medical Device Regulations(MDR) which ensure full consideration of your patients’ health and safety.

DAMAS certification is not awarded lightly: labs who wish to become accredited have to undergo a stringent auditing process with regular checks over many months. But we believe the end result is definitely worth it.

Advice from Dental Protection

Dental Protection, which covers seven out of ten dentists, says: “You are encouraged to ensure that you only use registered laboratories and it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you seek proper proof of registration and compliance which can be most easily demonstrated by accreditation to DAMAS.”
