IPS Empress Esthetic   A time-tested system  

IPS Empress revolutionized processing ceramic materials more than 15 years ago. Because of it’s many benefits, for example, high precision and aesthetic appearance, with more than 33 million restorations produced with the material so far. As a result, the system has gained a reputation for producing long-lasting, natural-looking results and maintaining high-quality standards.

The IPS Empress material is a homogeneous leucite-based ceramic, which scatters light like natural enamel and blends in well with it’s surroundings. Restorations created with the material display lifelike translucency and a true-to-nature appearance.
The press ceramic IPS Empress Esthetic show exceptional light-optical properties and strength values of 160 MPa. The highly aesthetic all-ceramic single tooth restorations, such as inlays, onlays and veneers blend in seamlessly with the surrounding dentition.

Veneer Shade determination

The correct tooth shade is the basis for true-to-nature restorations. After tooth cleaning, the tooth shade of the non-prepared tooth and the adjacent teeth is determined. Individual characteristics have to be considered when deciding the tooth shade.

The final shade of the restoration is the result of the following individual shades:

• Shade of the prepared tooth
• Shade of the ingot
• Shade of the layering ceramic
• Shade of the cementation material
